Homemade Pizza

This pizza is great for a fun recipe to make and a good recipe for lunch or dinner. It tastes almost identical to the pizza you get at your local pizza parlor.

First, I combined all of my dry ingredients in a medium bowl (flour, sugar, yeast, and salt).

Next, I added water and olive oil and I mixed until the dough formed into a ball. I ended up adding a 1 tablespoon at a time of extra flour since the dough was very sticky.

After, I lightly floured the surface and kneaded the dough. I then greased a large bowl with olive oil and put the dough in the bowl, covered it with plastic wrap, and let it sit for about 90 minutes to rise.

Then, I spread the dough out into a circle as big as the pan I was using. To top it all off, I added sauce and cheese .

I cooked it at 450 degrees (F) for 10-12 minutes until the crust was golden brown.

Pizza

Ingredients:

For the crust:

3 3/4 cups all purpose flour

1 1/4 teaspoons sugar

1 envelope active dry yeast

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 1/2 cups warm water

2 tablespoons olive oil, plus 2 teaspoons

For the Sauce:

5 cheese pizza sauce

For the Cheese:

8 ounces mozzarella, shredded then frozen

Instructions:

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a medium bowl and stir until well combined.

  2. Add the water and 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Mix until the dough forms a firm ball shape. If its too sticky add additional flour 1 tablespoon at a time. If its to dry add 1 tablespoon of water at a time.

  3. Knead on a lightly floured surface until it becomes a firm ball.

  4. Grease a large bowl with the other 2 teaspoons of olive oil, add the dough, cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Let dough rise in a warm area for about 90 minutes until it doubles in size.

  5. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

  6. Roll dough out into a circle shape as big as the size of the pan cover with sauce and cheese as desired.

  7. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

  8. Serve warm.
