Purim is a Jewish holiday that is held on the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar. To celebrate this holiday, some people make triangular shaped cookies. To find out more about this holiday click here.

These are very easy to make and delicious treats to eat even if you don't celebrate this holiday!

First, I mixed together all of the dry ingredients- sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt.

Next, I added melted butter, eggs, and orange juice. Then I mixed the dough for about 2-3 minutes.

After that, I refrigerated the dough for an hour (try not to refrigerate it for more than an hour-if you do you will have to leave the dough out for about 20 minutes).

After the dough came out of the refrigerator, I rolled it out on a floured surface not too thick but not so thin that it will rip.

Next, I preheated the oven to 350°F and cut circles out of the dough. (With the leftover dough I made a smaller Hamentashen so no dough went to waste).

For the fillings, I used strawberry jelly, apricot jelly, hazelnut spread, and chocolate chips. For this, it really doesn't matter what fillings you use as long as you like what you're putting inside your cookies!

When filling the Hamentashen, I put 1 teaspoon of filling in each-you can always add more when you fold it.

This is how to fold a Hamentashen
Bake the Hamentashen at 350°F for 20 to 30 minutes until lightly brown.

These are what they should turn out to look like. You can give these yummy treats to friends and family for Purim!
